Penis poster exhibitionist hunted by police

Officers have seized several large images posted in car parks and close to schools.

The A3 and A4-sized posters, in colour and black-and-white versions, show a penis with a yellow bow tied around it.

Investigators have interviewed staff at offices close to where the images were found and have taken fingerprints from the posters.

One line of inquiry is that the photographs may be a bizarre protest, as some include a caption about “fees set to rise later this year”.

A Sussex Police spokesman said the “budding photographer” has “failed to impress local police”.

He said: “We are aware of these posters and a local PCSO has removed a few, but we have not received any formal complaints.

“However, we are concerned that the posters have appeared quite close to local schools and they may well cause offence or distress.

However, from what we’ve seen, if this is a self-portrait, the artist won’t be in a hurry to be identified.”

Police said posters have been found in three areas, around County Hall, The Paddock and The Pells.

One Lewes officer worker said the graphic posters have appeared several times over the past fortnight.

Writing on an internet message board, he said: “This may not be unusual in Brighton, but for Lewes it will probably mean armageddon.”

Gulf of Mexico oil spill: Schwarzenegger ‘compares Mel Gibson to BP’

| Posted in Funny News |

Mr Schwarzenegger appeared to joke that while BP had seemingly contained its leaking oil well “no one has figured out how to contain Mel Gibson”.

The former Terminator star also told the group of utility commissioners at a conference in Sacramento to turn off their mobile phones “because we are expecting a call from him”.

His comments on Wednesday, which were immediately met with raucous laughter from the audience, came after a string of allegations were made against the embattled Braveheart star by Oksana Grigorieva, his former girlfriend.

Police are investigating allegations of domestic abuse made by Miss Grigorieva.

“The good news is that BP has contained the oil leak,” he told the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners.

“That is good news. Finally. Finally. The bad news is that no one has figured out how to contain Mel Gibson. Mel Gibson no one knows how to contain.

“So, this is why I want to ask all of you to just please turn off your cell phones because we are expecting a call from him.”

Miss Grigorieva claims Gibson hit her during a furious row while she was holding their baby daughter in January.

A photograph of her with two damaged veneers, said to have been taken shortly after the incident, has been published by the celebrity website Radar.

Several experts, however, have said the injuries in the photograph were inconsistent with being struck in the mouth as there was no bruising.

Sources close to Gibson have denied he physically assaulted Miss Grigorieva, a Russian pianist and singer.

The celebrity website has also published audio recordings purportedly made by Gibson.

In one expletive-ridden phone rant, secretly recorded by Miss Grigorieva, the mother of his child, Gibson claimed he had become broke by her demands.

He complained he had “no money” and has even had to sell his seat for watching the Los Angeles Lakers basketball team.

But Sheriff’s detectives in Los Angeles are investigating extortion allegations against Miss Grigorieva amid claims she tried to blackmail Gibson, a claim she denies.

Gibson, 54, and Miss Grigorieva, 40, have been locked in a bitter custody dispute over their infant daughter for several weeks.

A spokesman for Gibson, Alan Nierob, said he was happy to hear Mr Schwarzenegger was maintaining a sense of humour.

“He’s obviously paving the way for a return to showbiz,” he added.

He declined to comment further.
